Writers, especially now in this day, rarely consider how lucky they are that they word process their work. But I know that some of you got your degrees in what I call the dark ages. We typed our papers, and every page had to be clean. Cut and paste, literally meant, cut and paste.
So the tool that makes writers who they are, also makes them spoiled. This is definitely not so, for the artist.
I am back to watercolor now, and I notice how greatly spoiled I have been by using acrylics. Don't like something in acrylics? Paint over it! Wrong color, remix and paint over it. You get the idea.
Watercolor? I don't think it is as unforgiving as some say. But then again, I also paint using alcohol inks. And alcohol inks are definitely there. If you think you like it, STOP. Now while this is true for other mediums, it is definitely true for inks.
The paintings below are in watercolor and are finished 'drafts'. I took both of these paintings to a critique session at the league a few weeks ago. I didn't think that I could, because I am not as good a watercolorist, make some details stand out more in the first painting. And in the second painting, I wasn't sure I could give someone a purpose to view it. One woman said she didn't feel there was a story. But I added the story.
So, please, everyone, write into the blog. Don't send me an email, just write on the blog. What do you think?

These are quite beautiful. I especially enjoy the bottom one - the color choices and composition is very pleasing too look at. And I love the color bleeds and drips.
