It took me 17 paintings that could become dart boards to get here. But then this painting also represents what I do not understand in both art history and those who view my paintings, especially those who are artists.
For example, consider abstract versus abstract expressionism. Then just consider whatever you consider to be a normal painting. If this were whatever you consider to be normal, would you ask why do you have this flower there?
Is it the fact that it is a flag or upside down?
And most importantly, do you ask an artist of a still life of a towel, lemon, vase etc, what were you feeling then?
Do regular painters not get caught up in the moment?
And if you like a lemon based on composition, is it because you think you understand it? But if you don't like this painting is it because it is merely abstract or is it because you don't want to or your brain can't, interpret the composition?
